Welcome to First Cry Photography and Doula Services. My name is Kendra, and I was born and raised in Carbondale and have always had a passion for birth. I have loved photography since junior high and began specializing in birth photography in 2016.
In 2017, I began working as a Certified Lactation Consultant at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale where I still work night shift. In January of 2020 I trained with Doulas of North America, DONA, to become a birth doula.
Since my first birth in 2016 I have had the honor of documenting over 40 sweet babe’s births, and have experienced the great sorrow of documenting several babes born sleeping.
It is my passion that through documenting birth and guiding mothers through labor that my clients look back and feel empowered through their journey. I have such a huge heart for capturing mothers in their most powerful form of themselves and being able to say “look what you did and can do, nothing can stop you.”
